Cry Baby is called to the Master’s house for punishment. She stands barefoot near the wall and explains the reason for her visit. After removing her shoes, she poses gracefully with her bare feet, hoping to please the Master and ease her punishment. Then, she undresses completely, faces the wall, and places her hands on her head as a gesture of submission.
The Master begins by making her stand on tiptoes for a long time, testing her endurance. Next, she is instructed to balance on one leg. After this, she is ordered to turn around and squat, keeping her hands on her head. Cry Baby obeys every command, despite the strain. She struggles to maintain the uncomfortable position for 15 minutes.
Afterward, she is told to turn back toward the wall and continue squatting. She lasts another 15 minutes before exhaustion forces her to sit on the floor. Angered by her failure, the Master commands her to kneel on a thick wooden stick while facing the wall, with her hands once again on her head. The sharp pain in her knees becomes unbearable, and she struggles through another 15 minutes of torment.
Although Cry Baby has endured kneeling on peas during previous punishments, the wooden stick proves to be far more agonizing. The pain pushes her to her limits, and she barely manages to complete the task. When the time finally ends, she collapses to the floor, clutching her aching knees, and quietly moans in pain. She dares not cry out loudly, knowing it would only anger the Master further.
When she timidly asks if she may get dressed, the Master denies her request. Instead, he orders her to stand naked against the wall with her hands on her head. She will remain in this position until evening, continuing her punishment.
